Spacemen3- Recurring

The last album. By this point the relationship between Pierce and Kember was so frayed that they clouldn't enter the studio together. As a result this is two albums, with each artist taking up a side. The result is a surprisingly solid album that deserves more attention, and of special interest to either fans of Spectrum, E.A.R or Spiritualized

Amon Duul II- Yeti

Amon Duul II were on the outer fringes of the already outer fringe scene of late 60's early 70's german experimental rock (aka krautrock). This is some of the most out there druggy free-kraut-improv-psych ever recorded. I'm guessing these people were on some shit that gets you in touch with some other shit, if you know what i'm saying. Makes King Crimson sound like Stars of The Lid.

Striborg- Autumnal Melancholy

Aptly dubbed "The Black-Metal Jandek", Striborg has spent much of the last decade self-recording his own albums from his seclusion deep in the Tasmanian forests. The songs alternate between burzumic atmospheric pieces, and worded fair typically consisting of home recorded drums and guitar and his signature high pitched croak. AmateurishIy recorded with a seemingly early Mountain Goats inspired buzz covering everything. Imangine Gollum singing misanthropic dirges from deep under his mountain, disturbing stuff indeed. Extremely fucked-up brilliance.

1. The Scrying Mirror
2. The Void and Cloudless Sky
3. As a Hermit Hiding in the Trance of Night
4. In Opressive Silence
5. The Manifestation of Black Residual Energy
